Originally a commercial artist, web designer and developer, Willow has returned to her first love – Painting. These most recent works are a new exploration of light and color in Pastels. They represent both Plein Air and Studio work completed in 2023 and 2024. Member of the Pastel Society of Tampa Bay, Pastel Society of America, TESA, Morean Art Center and the Dunedin Fine Art Center, Wright has shown work at the Dunedin Fine Center, The Morean Art Center, Stirling Art Gallery and Studios in Dunedin and DRV Gallery in Gulfport, FL. In addition, she has shown at the Carrollwood Cultural Center and is now the Art Curator at the Center.
Exploring landscapes through pastels
My work has no hidden meaning or deep message…. I am simply enchanted and intrigued by the mystery of life as expressed in the visual aspect of the world around me. The amazing effect of light and shade on every object either man made or natural…The elegant excess of a million hues of colorreflected by that light…. The astounding complexity of pattern and design in a simple orchid or a tree-climbing turtle…The majesty and scale of a distant view of mountains, ocean or desert…all captivate my attention and imagination. My challenge is to elevate my experience to the form of art…to communicate it to others and give it the attention it deserves!
