Landscapes
Daytime
Maybe it begins with an idea while I’m driving up the West coast of Florida, and I notice how flat the land is, and how huge the sky is. And right up there is this cumulous” thunderbumper” building and building. Right below it there’s a little gathering of palm trees just on the other side of a swampy field, and I’m almost startled when I realize that this moment will never come again, and pull over and get out the easel and pastels and start scratching away. I take photos that I know will never capture it all. The scale of things in Florida is beyond huge, beyond magnificent. I just want to save a little, pay attention to a moment in time, that will never come again….a magnificent nano-second that I had the privilege of experiencing.
